Bluehoo beta for Windows Mobile

Tuesday, November 11th, 2008

This news came out last week, but we forgot to post about it.  Sounds pretty cool, and it sounds like Azure will be bringing us all sorts of other cool apps in the near future!

Microsoft Azure is a new Microsoft product that let’s you build applications in the cloud or extend your current applications. Check out Bluehoo which is the first non-Microsoft application using this technology.

Quoting from their Web site, Bluehoo is a mobile app that helps you make new social connections with the people around you - for business or for pleasure. Bluehoo uses Bluetooth to discover “hoos” around you right here, right now, shows you those people’s profiles and helps you start conversations. The Bluehoo Beta mobile phone software can be downloaded right now from m.bluehoo.com.

Discuss it here.

New Windows Mobile App Portal (currently abroad only)

Friday, July 25th, 2008

There’s a new Silverlight-based portal for Windows Mobile applications designed specifically for customers in the EMEA region – that’s “Europe, Middle East, and Africa.” On this site, you can browse line of business applications  by industry or drill down into apps for sales force enablement, field force enablement, GPS, and more. Each app features a description, a scenario for its usage, and its benefits. You can click to see screenshots and to access more links – like the link to the app’s website, for example. For anyone in this geographic region, the site can be a valuable resource to help you find the best business apps for your Windows Mobile device. To take a look for yourself here.

Wonder what the timing is for this to be available in North America…
